Thanks, Peter Jennings

You've covered all the stories of my lifetime, including the most miniscule, to the most paralyzing. You were an anchor all of us turned to when things went south, or when they were fortunate enough to go north. For a lot of us, you were the only reason we would watch ABC News. When you made your shocking broadcast exclaiming you had cancer, we knew the time would eventually come. We didn't, perhaps, think it would come so quickly.
Thank you for bearing the blunt of the world news, before we at home were able to digest it. We were crying at home before you could have the chance. We were elated with joy, well before you had the opportunity to celebrate with those you loved.
Rest in peace, Peter. Thanks for the memories.
