somewhat conflicted

A Picture from my PCS Vision Camera

I was afraid to stop any closer to this vehicle, because the driver had his eye on me. All I wanted was a picture!

You may not be able to grasp the humor of this shot. But if you look at the very front of the truck, you'll notice a snow plow. Of course, there is a canoe on the top. I guess only in Missouri could you possibly take a canoe trip, or have to plow snow in the course of 24 hours. Might as well be prepared to do both, I assume.

I'm always a bit paranoid about taking photos of people. I wanted to snap a few shots of the poor souls who—like me—were drinking in the local bar on Christmas day, but I didn't want my camera to have to be surgically extracted from my face. I don't know how Lauren does it, running out in front of riot cops and snapping pictures of strangers on subways, but then again, I imagine people see her as basically harmless (little do they know ...).

I'm nervous about taking those type of pictures here in the States, because it seems like everyone carries a gun. I doubt the same is true about the Japanese. The nice thing about having a cell phone with a camera is that it's a little less obvious. Although I think people are beginning to catch on to those as well.

Yeah, guns are scary, but you should see what the hooligans here can do with a pint glass ...

I don't even want to know. Unfortunately, my imagination is clever enough to invent any number of possibilities.
